  • Kisimul Castle lies in the centre of Castle Bay, Barra, in the Scottish Outer Hebrides...in my eyes, it's the best place on God's planet and where my ancestors originate from...my Maiden name being McNeill.

Steeped in history, this is the most westerly inhabited island in Great Britain is probably best known for it's link with the 'Whisky Galore' shipwreck.

The island is only 8 miles long and 7 miles wide, with clean beaches, a truly invigorating climate and inspirational scenery.

Anyone who's not been, should go!!

This painting has textured rocks in the foreground and hills in the distance to capture the ruggedness of the landscape, while the sea in the bay remains sheltered and calm; even the castle is textured. A little sand from the Outer Hebrides is trickled around the shore-line to give the painting a more authentic appeal.

I have used a variety of mediums, from acrylics, oils, inks and charcoal and the painting is continued around all four sides and varnished form protection.

This painting comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.

::HIGH QUALITY GICLÉE PRINTS [16" x 16"] ARE AVAILABLE.
